Development and Production USA (DPUSA) is responsible for Statoil’s portfolio of producing assets and planned field developments across the US. Tasks and responsibilities based on projects assigned:
Perform duties and responsibilities of an inhouse Landman
Interacts with other disciplines in a team environment to accomplish company goals
Develop understanding of oil and gas Leases and related contracts and a technical understanding how each can impact or be impacted by field operations.
Develop an operational understanding of oil and gas drilling, completion and production practices
Develop an geological understanding of the origination of oil, gas and other hydrocarbons and associated reservoirs properties
Develop an understanding of regulatory requirements and practices in areas worked
Assist Landmen with projects involving their respective geographic areas
Develop a basic understanding of the origination of oil and gas interest types and how they contribute to related Land interest calculations (working interest, royalty/overriding royalty, gross/net acres)
Participate in educational field trips and team activities
Assist in drafting contracts under Land/Legal supervision
Ability to learn and use computer related software associated with contract management, mapping and oil and gas information retrieval
Job Knowledge Requirements and Most Critical Job Skills:
Basic understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a Landman as partially set forth by the American Association of Professional Land Management
Ability to effectively and concisely present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to work within multi-disciplinary team
Well structured work practices
Flexible and a team worker
Enjoy helping and educating collaborating to further educate self and others
