Development and Production International (DPI) is responsible for Equinor’s portfolio of producing assets and planned field developments in all countries outside Norway and Brazil. Job Description

Lead Equinor Mexico`s government and regulatory affairs work related to upstream, mid-and downstream and renewables at federal, state and local level

Set direction for all interaction with government and regulatory agencies

Identify, assess and manage key government and regulatory issues of importance to Equinor

Provide advice on government and regulatory affairs to country management, business areas and company executives

Analyse new policies and regulations and impact for Equinor, assets and future business opportunities

Develop strategies and implement measures that will strengthen Equinor`s communication and dialogue with political and public stakeholders in Mexico

Responsible for stakeholder mapping, plans and engagement to reach Equinor Mexico`s vision, strategy and business objectives in country

Manage and ensure compliance with regulatory and permitting processes for Equinor`s assets

Collaborate and interface with Equinor`s business areas, functions and corporate entities efficiently and with impeccable standards

Promote and develop best practice for the government and regulatory affairs work

Participate in the Equinor Mexico Management Committee

Lead and empower a permitting resource and ensure timely and high quality submission of drilling -and other relevant permits

Arrange and facilitate meetings, stakeholders programs and briefings for senior executives

Produce high-quality written products and briefings that address the priorities of business areas and corporate functions

Represent Equinor vis á vis government and regulatory stakeholders, in public forums, and conferences to gather information, present Equinor`s strategy and positions and build and maintain relationships to strengthen our portfolio in Mexico

Travel according to business needs within Mexico and other Equinor locations


Master`s Degree, preferably in public affairs, political science, economics, law or business

Minimum 5 years of experience in government and regulatory affairs in Mexico

Strong knowledge of the dynamics of government and regulatory affairs in Mexico, as well as policymaking and processes

Proven experience and results with Mexican legislation and regulation in the petroleum and/or energy sector

Proven ability to engage with a range of political and public stakeholders

Ability to communicate precisely and effectively externally and internally

Extensive knowledge of and experience with the Mexican regulatory system, energy policies, processes and key decision makers

In depth knowledge and understanding of energy markets and business environment

Strong commitment and ownership to integrity, anti-corruption and I am safety

Established government and non-governmental network in Mexico City and in key energy states

Native Spanish speaker. Fluency in English, written and oral
