Marketing, Midstream and Processing (MMP) shall maximise corporate value creation in Equinor’s mid- and downstream business through safe, reliable and efficient operations. We are responsible for capturing the full value potential of all marketed and traded products such as crude oil, liquids and natural gas.
Engage in daily interaction with traders to advice on trading strategies, opportunities and risks
Maintain and develop models to provide dynamic analyses of physical demand/supply balances for the whole crude curve, forward markets, position of buyers and sellers, arbitrage opportunities and cargo tracking
Develop regular market reports addressing topics of relevance for the trading desk
Stay on top of maintenance schedules for fields and refineries, pipeline schedules, shipping and other market drivers
Work together with traders on cargo tracking and destination assessment for all relevant crudes
Calculate diffs/premiums for relevant grades and update curves and spreads
Provide views about main market drivers: cracks, products, seasonal effects, geopolitics
Liaise with and revise value for all data providers/news agencies
Integrate with the traders and Market analysis to strengthen market intelligence and commercial knowledge
Participate in the global analysis trading network and interact with other trading analysts in North America, Europe and Asia
Engage in digital development initiatives to strengthen analytical tools that support positive business impact to the trading activities
The analyst will be physically situated on the trading desk and he/she is expected to ensure that market information and analyses from the desk are shared with trading analyst peers and other trading desks.
Relevant experience as a Trading desk analyst
Proven strong data and analytical skills
Easily adapt to new trends on digitalization
3-5 years relevant experince is preferred
Relevant experience may compensate for formal qualifications.
Collaborative; adaptable and enthusiastic
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Strong team player with ability to thrive across organizational interfaces and build networks across multiple business units, both directly and virtually
Self-driven and able to challenge accepted truths
Strong digital skills with the ability to effectively develop and utilize models and tools in a commercial environment
